OK I Will Try Again!

Filed under: Uncategorized — by starlightstarbright @ 10:10 pm

I can’t make any promises about blogging all the time but I will try to post every once in a while for those who still look *grin grin*.

I have started a new job now. The official title is Staffing Coordinator. Sounds impressive? Not really just means I work a bunch of hours now and in an office. I like it though. I like the people I work with too. I really like my boss, no, he is not reading over my shoulder. I think he is a very kind man and listens to us. He especially has helped me come to a better understanding of my abilities. I am not second guessing myself nearly as much as I once was. Thanks God for that!

The other big thing in my life now is that I am taking voice lessons every week. I love it!!!!! I always knew I could sing but never did I know that I could sound so beautiful! I sang a piece from The Messiah for Christmas. That was big for me. I listened to a recording of it later and I didn’t sound half bad either. I am wondering how I will sound in a year from now. I know it will be better than what I am doing now. I just think that it is so cool that I can know how to make myself sound good instead of guessing at it all the time when I sing. I still sing quite a bit at Church. I love that. I also get to sing at Naomi’s wedding in May.

So that is what is new in my life. Thanks for reading and not giving up on my!

Colds

All I can say is life is funny. I haven’t had a cold in at least two years. This was a big weekend for me and I was sick for the whole thing. I started to come down with something on Thursday. By Friday morning I was just praying that I would be able to sing in the Cantata that my Church was putting on that night. God answered my prayer and let me make it through the program. Then after the whole thing was over I lost my voice to the level of a very awful croak. On Saturday I made our traditional Easter Sunday dinner which is almost exactly like the Passover Seder that I use to help cook. I think that every one in my family got in on the action because of me feeling so under the weather all day. They all were a wonderful help and I know that we wouldn’t have had such a wonderful meal if it hadn’t been for them. They also helped me make Sunday breakfast as well. I think that I am finally starting to get better. I do hope that it’s not just wishful thinking on my part. I guess time is the only thing that will tell in this case.

The Rest of What I have Been Doing

Filed under: Uncategorized — by starlightstarbright @ 3:50 am

I couldn’t talk about the big thing that I was working on the last time I blogged. The young ladies of my church decided to give every one of the guys that are single a gift for Valentines day. We gave each of the 30 some odd guys a lei made out of candy. Then for the 21 guys that are in the teen class and older we gave them each a t’shirt that we painted for them. I worked every free second that I had on those shirts for three weeks. I free handed a verse on every one of them. Even if I do say so my self I think that they all looked so good. The 15 teen guys all got the same shirt that said “Mo’ Fire” on the back. The letters were done in red with flames coming out of the top of the letters. Then I put the verse under the red lettering. For the 6 guys out of the teen class we made each one of them a different shirt. We tried to make the saying on each go with the guy we gave it to in some way or other. I was so glad to have them done and ready to give out.

What a Life I Lead

Filed under: Uncategorized — by starlightstarbright @ 5:57 pm

I don’t know about you but I thought that after Christmas my life would slow down. NOT SO!!!! I have been even busyer then I was before Christmas.

Let me shair a little about it. Then you can be the judge.

I started out Jan. with a party that kept growing. Then I started working about 56 hr. a week. I also help teach 2 kids that go to my church (about another 6 hr. a week). I have helped plan a banquet that will take place this Friday. I also pulled together this other big project that I was part of (my cousin was helping me and had to go spend time with her very sick father in CA) but ended up doing more then I planned.  Once the banquet is done on Friday we will start our Easter Cantata the next Sunday. I have also been sick a couple times and other things that I can’t remember. All typed this doesn’t seem like as much but when you are in the middle of it you are just hoping for it all to be over. Yet then the next thing comes along.

I have a wonderful man that I am now careing for ever day. I like that so much better then running all over the place helping here and there for 4 hr at a time. I was in my car more each day then my bed. I am very gald for the family that I am helping now. I get to do all kinds of things with him. What I like best is that he will do anything I sugest to him and always enjoys it as much as me. I am reading Louis L’amour books to him. I am enjoying them as much as he is. This was one of the things that I loved about teaching so it’s nice that I still get to do it in my job now.

Fall

Filed under: Uncategorized — by starlightstarbright @ 4:31 am

Today as I was driving I get to watch one of the  marvels of fall. It was windy today and some of the leaves were hanging on for a day like this. I think they wanted to end their time lives with a last dance with the wind. They swirled and swooped to the earth in graceful step with the wind. What a wonder to watch as you drive through. I just wish that I had been walking instead of driving. I could have enjoyed it so much more

Yes I am still alive!

Filed under: Uncategorized — by starlightstarbright @ 3:21 am

You are all probably all wondering is I am still alive. I must say some times with the hours I am working I think I might not be. I hope that will all change this week. I am working for some wonderful people, but so far it is 4 hours here and 4 hours there. I am hoping to get a job that will be 7 1/2 hours Monday through Friday with a 12 hour shift on Saturdays that I want to work. I will then have the hours that I was hoping for without all the driving that I am doing right now. This change will also give me more time at home I hope. “I am being told this why?” you might be asking.  Because I hope to be back to writing for often (if there is any one reading this page any more, which I doubt).

Busy!!!!!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — by starlightstarbright @ 3:09 pm

OK, I’m back for I don’t know how long. I have been living a very full life with out the internet most of the time. I got out of the habit of checking my email and posting on my blog when we were with out power for a week. I will post as I have something to say but it will be a little more often than the last few months.

So what has been happing in my life? Quit a bit I must say. I have taken two trips, lived through a black out in my neighborhood, found a job that I start today, helped 4 kids get done with last years school, gone to the funeral for the lady that I helped take care of, moved my cousin in (back from teaching summer school and spending time with her family) and my sister out (she is back at school now), made apple butter, and the list goes on and on. I have had a very full summer and enjoyed almost every minuet of it.

Birds and other little things

Filed under: Uncategorized — by starlightstarbright @ 1:24 am

Saturday we found a bird stuck in the window of our upstairs bathroom. It had come in through a hole that has been there since we moved in three years ago. This was our first bird and hopefully our last to get stuck in there. We left it a lone thinking it would get out all on its own. In fact when I got home on Saturday night from a shopping trip with my sister I didn’t hear the bird and thought is was out. Till the next morning. As we were getting ready for Church I heard it and told Dad about it. He hadn’t heard about it the day before and was very worried about it. But since we all had our good clothes on we decided to wait till after church. I wish now that we had done something right then because after we got it out in the afternoon the bird died. I must say after I found it dead on the front lawn I almost cried. I kept thinking though about Matthew 6:26 about God caring for the birds. The verse goes like this, “Behold the fowls of the air; for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” It was a nice reminder that God cares for me a hole lot. I guess you can say that God used the taking the life of a little bird to remind me of His care of me. That was special!
